Employer relocation guide

Moving to Memphis for AutoZone?

Housing guidance for corporate, technology and support employees relocating to Memphis — downtown commuting, hybrid schedules and leasing before you start.

Nearby apartments: ELM manages Raleigh Pines in Raleigh, Memphis (38128)view current availability.

Corporate relocations are usually less about shift work and more about commute, hybrid schedules and getting settled fast enough to be useful in your first month. AutoZone’s corporate presence is in downtown Memphis, which makes the practical question how far from the core you want to be.

About travel times. We do not publish drive-time figures for any employer or worksite. Any travel time you see elsewhere is an estimate; confirm your worksite address with your employer and drive or map the route yourself, at the hours you will actually travel it.

Relocation considerations

Downtown commuting

Ask about parking arrangements at your building. Whether parking is provided or paid changes both your commute and your budget.

Hybrid schedules

If you are in the office only some days, a longer commute may be tolerable in exchange for more space. Confirm the schedule before you decide.

Working from home

If part of your week is remote, check internet options at the specific address and whether the layout gives you a usable, quiet work space.

Relocation timing

Corporate start dates tend to be firm. Work backwards from the date and leave room for the application and utility setup.

Household moves

Corporate relocations more often involve a partner and children. Confirm school zoning directly with the district, not from a listing site.

Temporary landing spot

Some people lease short-term first and buy later. Tell us if that is your plan and we will factor it into the term.

Corporate start date fixed? Tell us the date and we will tell you what is available in time for it.

Leasing before you arrive

Signing before you arrive is common for corporate relocations, especially when a start date is fixed and travel time is scarce.

  1. Confirm what is available for your date
Start from our current listings rather than an older search result.
  2. Tour it
Book a self-guided showing, or ask us for a video walkthrough of the specific unit if you cannot travel.
  3. Ask your questions in writing
Utilities, parking, pets, lease term and move-in timing — before you apply, not after.
  4. Apply online
Submit through our application with your documents ready. Submitting an application does not guarantee approval.
  5. Read and sign the lease
Term, rent due date, utilities, maintenance process and end-of-term conditions.
  6. Set up move-in
Utilities in your name and renters insurance active for the move-in date, then schedule your key handover.

Documents to prepare

Corporate offers usually make the income side of an application straightforward. Have the letter in writing with start date and terms visible.

  • Government photo ID for every adult on the lease
  • Proof of income — recent pay stubs, or your offer letter if you have not started
  • Rental history with contact details for recent landlords
  • Employer contact details and personal references
  • Written offer letter with start date and compensation terms
  • Documentation of any employer-arranged temporary housing dates, if relevant

Showing options

Frequently asked questions

Is ELM affiliated with AutoZone?

No. We are an independent property management company and are not affiliated with or endorsed by AutoZone.

Do you provide corporate housing?

We do not provide official corporate housing programs. We manage rentals that relocating employees lease directly, like any other resident.

Can I lease for less than a year?

Ask us what terms are available before applying. It depends on the unit.

Can I apply before I arrive?

Yes. See our remote leasing guide for the full process.

What if my employer is arranging temporary housing first?

Tell us the dates. It usually makes the timing easier, not harder, because your move-in is not tied to your first day.
