Ask which campus you are assigned to and whether you will float between locations. A float assignment changes what a sensible location looks like.
Twelve-hour shifts
Three long days is a different housing problem than five short ones. Prioritize a quiet unit and a short walk from parking over extra space.
Nights and rotations
If you rotate, you will sleep during daylight some weeks. Room-darkening curtains, bedroom placement and a unit away from daytime noise matter.
The drive home
The end of a long shift is when your commute is least forgiving. Drive the route at that hour before you sign.
Scrubs and laundry
In-unit or on-site laundry stops being a luxury on a three-shift week.
