Housing for Memphis Healthcare Workers

Rental guidance for nurses, technicians, residents, researchers and support staff across Memphis hospitals and clinics.

Nearby apartments: ELM manages Raleigh Pines in Raleigh, Memphis (38128)view current availability.

Memphis has a large healthcare and research sector spread across multiple systems and campuses. Whichever one employs you, the housing decision turns on the same three variables: which site, which shift, and how long the appointment lasts.

About travel times. We do not publish drive-time figures for any employer or worksite. Any travel time you see elsewhere is an estimate; confirm your worksite address with your employer and drive or map the route yourself, at the hours you will actually travel it.

Relocation considerations

Campus, not system

A system name tells you nothing about your commute. Get the specific campus address, and ask whether you float.

Twelve-hour shifts

Three long days is a different housing problem than five short ones. Sleep quality outranks square footage.

Night rotations

If you rotate, you will sleep in daylight. Bedroom placement, blackout curtains and climate control matter.

Contract and travel assignments

A 13-week contract and a twelve-month lease are not natural partners. Ask about terms before applying.

Credentialing timelines

Licensure and starting work move start dates. Keep move-in flexible until start date is fixed.

The drive home

Judge the commute at the end of a shift, not the start. That is the version you will do hundreds of times.

Tell us your campus, shift and contract length and we will tell you what works.

Leasing before you arrive

Clinical staff frequently cannot travel to view apartments before starting. Everything below works from another state or country.

  1. Confirm what is available for your date
Start from our current listings rather than an older search result.
  2. Tour it
Book a self-guided showing, or ask us for a video walkthrough of the specific unit if you cannot travel.
  3. Ask your questions in writing
Utilities, parking, pets, lease term and move-in timing — before you apply, not after.
  4. Apply online
Submit through our application with your documents ready. Submitting an application does not guarantee approval.
  5. Read and sign the lease
Term, rent due date, utilities, maintenance process and end-of-term conditions.
  6. Set up move-in
Utilities in your name and renters insurance active for the move-in date, then schedule your key handover.

Documents to prepare

Agency, travel and international arrivals all have documentation quirks. Raise yours early rather than mid-application.

  • Government photo ID for every adult on the lease
  • Proof of income — recent pay stubs, or your offer letter if you have not started
  • Rental history with contact details for recent landlords
  • Employer contact details and personal references
  • Offer letter or contract, including travel and agency assignments
  • Licensure or credentialing documentation relevant to your start date
  • An explanation of any gap in US rental or credit history, if you are arriving from abroad

Showing options

Self-guided showings fit clinical schedules better than appointment-based tours. Video walkthroughs of the specific unit are available while you are still out of town.

Why the drive home matters most

Judge a commute by the end of a shift rather than the start. That is when fatigue, weather and traffic all arrive at once, and it is the drive you will make hundreds of times. A route that is comfortable at seven in the morning is a different road at the end of a twelve-hour shift in February.

No. We are an independent property management company with no affiliation to any hospital, university or health system.

Do you have short-term leases for travel assignments?

Ask us — it varies by unit, and we would rather be straight with you before you apply.
